Gala Evening

At the gala evening in our living group showed much nervousness because everything was in the hands of Angie not to us.

It could be that our queen obsevar felt pressured because it was the last competition on stage.

Their presentations were good, but I beat Civil, were third, but felt no one could argullosos with our union groups.

After the presentations and the coronation of the queen, there was a Halloween party and the majority of students attended with their custumes, to the faculty coordinator, by the way his costume was very original!

Talent Night

The talent night was excellent. All powers (the participants), spent a pleasant time in fellowship to support his favorite candidate.

At first, our queen seemed a little nervous, but all that vanished when he saw his colleagues shouting and supporting.

Our participants wore splendid in all its presentation and our queen or say, for us it was the best of the night.

Well, we finally won in imitation, in choreography and we were second in last song.

Conference of the Human Rights

This conference was held in the library for fourth year students of the Faculty of Science and Technology.

Students attended the faculty and others as well. Fellow freshmen participated as Bilingual Executive Communication protocol performed at the event.

The main theme of this conference was about human rights, as it evolves over time, especially the importance of the right of a woman in society in addition to the history that this had to happen for it to take account of their views and choices and also about some problems that exist in our republic nearby, Colombia.

Successful Closing of the Congress

With two conferences on alternative energy sources and climate change, Club David, ended on Friday, May 20, the International Congress of Science and Technology for Sustainable Development, organized by the Regional Center of the Technological University of Panama (UTP ) in Chiriqui.

In the first lecture, Dr. Carlos Patino, the Mexican Institute of Water Technology (IMTA), entitled Climate Change and Watershed Management, noted the research being conducted at this institute, to forecast climate changes in to hidrometereología, hydrology, river mechanics, water quality, training of human resources, communication and information.

The closing lecture of the conference, "Alternative sources of power generation and new ways to mitigate its side effects on the environment," was presented by Mr. Azael Knight Jaramillo, GDF Suez Energy Central America.

This exhibition was part of the Panamanian situation regarding alternative energy sources, highlighting the increased energy that occurs at a certain time of year and the yellow alert which was the country for possible power outages during the first half of May and this, mainly due to the use of air conditioners at the high temperatures and that many of the country's hydroelectric plants are not capable.

Jaramillo also referred to the exchange (not sale) of energy between Panama and Costa Rica, the way energy is produced, its price, demand and alternative energy sources, how these, how they behave, how they are obtained, Which countries produce and stressed the need for each Panamanian "instead of saying something, you have to, such as reforestation."

After the lecture, it was the closing ceremony in which the Regional Center Director, Mr. Abdiel Saavedra, thanked everyone for the development of the congress, both the National Secretariat for Science, Technology and Innovation (SENACYT) the organizers, participants and exhibitors, and left open the possibility of continuing to make this congress in the coming years.

Dr. Oscar Ramirez, Advisor to President's Office, on behalf of the Rector, Mr. Marcela Paredes de Vasquez, gave closing remarks and emphasized how successful was the conference.

In the end, the Folkloric Ballet of the headquarters of the UTP delighted the audience with a Mosaic Folk.

International Congress of Science and Technology for Sustainable

The first International Congress Science and Technology for Sustainable organized by Technological University Panama, Sede Chiriqui with Secretariat support National Science and Technology (SENACYT) is a event unveiled research and strategies allowing scientific development sustainable technological.

This congress, conducted May 18th to 20th 2011, gathered professionals both national international different specialty areas for disseminating scientific technological facing successfully the challenges sustainable development and preservation of natural resources and environment for future generations.

This event, featured recognized professionals e country researchers like Spain U.S. Guatemala. Mexico and Panama, is part of a program that includes lectures will be held in the Club David's location and demonstration session (lectures and clinics) that developed in the facilities of the UTP, Centro Regional de Chiriqui, located in the urbanization Lassonde.

It was a great day because we all enjoyed a time of fellowship and unity.

But as they were following the games, participating in the games of our faculty took on anger, stress, almost lost our friends!
Angie, our candidate is exalted against the judges because they were not just the rules from the start of the games.
and finally the ability to win was the Civil Engineering.

Angie looked very beautiful, but also was nervous because she did not know how she had to act against almost the whole university.

The candidate of the Faculty of Industrial also looked nice, but angie looked better, she did looked like a queen.
